Breaking News: A New Family Member!

If you follow me on social media, then this is old news, but if you don’t then join us in the celebration: We have a new family member: A new kitten!

Just before Thanksgiving at my husband’s job a stray kitten showed up. The kitten was caught and brought home. I never had a chance to bond with the kitten as it bonded with my husband all day after being captured.  He is her human!

As you know, we already have two cats: Sage and Curry. They are four years old have been our ‘dynamic duo’ since we adopted them. We were not sure how they would react to the kitten. We kept her separate from them until we got a clean bill of health from the vet.

Then came the task of slowly meeting big brother and sister.  Sage took to the kitten quicker and they are like BFF’s most of the time. Curry on the other hand was acting like Church from Pet Semetary!

Sage and Curry (AKA Big Sister and Bigger Brother)

But I can proudly say as of this past weekend everyone is seemingly getting along.  (YES!) There will still be an adjustment as this kitten is high energy and Curry isn’t most of the time and sometimes he still seems leery of her.

So you might be wondering….  What is the new kitten’s name?  If you guessed some kind of spice then you are wrong!!!!

We are Walking Dead fans and when Shiva was introduced on the show I said the next cat would be named Shiva!  If the show had been further along than it was when we adopted Sage and Curry they would have most likely have been named Ezekiel and Shiva. I am actually glad that did not happen as Sage and Curry are such great names for them!  Now if the kitten had been a boy then there was more discussion over names, but I overruled hubby and said it would be Beta.  Yes, another Walking Dead character!

So we are in a new adventure right now with all of us adjusting to Shiva, the little diva!  😉

Welcome Shiva!

I find it so hard to imagine someone dumping this precious little kitten who was maybe one pound when she came home!
