Book Description:

Wicked phenomena strike the isolated campus of Calisade Mountain College. A homeless man sees his dead son in an abandoned dormitory, pursues the boy inside, and meets his demise. In the dark of night, a student witnesses a man plummet from a high-rise — a surefire suicide — but the detectives find no body. A campus police officer suddenly develops a taste for rape — and a homicidal hunger. The townspeople always sensed an intangible wrongness on the mountain . . . even before the evil enigma was afoot.

Kim’s Review:

This book was creepy!! While I admit that the open ended and mysterious nature of this story frustrated me, cuz y’all know I love as much info as I can get! But the author did warn me beforehand so I was prepared and that actually made a difference. I was genuinely uncomfortable in some places because it made me think and question. I never knew exactly where the story was going to go at any one point but it was still easy to follow. There were some places where I had to tread carefully cuz it was just scary! This was a fascinating read and I liked how Riddick took real world elements like religion and wound it into a unique storyline. I would absolutely love a more in-depth book on the origins of some of these unearthly elements, but I still can appreciate the mystery of it all. Overall, an excellent horror story that would satisfy even the most hardcore fans!! Well done!
