My December 2024 Reads
We are at the end of December and it is time to share what I read this month and my top 10 of 2024 will come tomorrow! I read/ listened to six books in total, five of which were audiobooks and one was a short story. I read one paperback book which was also unique as it is advent style!
December was a better month reading wise, with the books ranging from 3.5 stars to five stars. Two of the books were five stars!
Here are the books in the order I finished them:
Holiday Hideaway by Mary Kay Andrews- Audio- short story-3.5 stars
Booked for the Holidays by Liz Maverick- Audio- 3.5 stars
Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid- Audio- 5 stars
Where the Darkness Goes by Kiersten Modglin- Audio- 4 stars
My Time to Stand by Gypsy- Rose Blanchard- Audio- 4 stars
25 Days by Per Jacobsen- Paperback -5 stars
My ‘favorite read’ was very hard to choose from since I had two five star reads and they are very different genres! I ultimately decided that 25 Days was the winner. Both are very unique but 25 Days gets a slight advantage for the advent style book that it is meant to be read in. It definitely kept me reading!
My ‘least favorite’ was Holiday Hideaway by Mary Kay Andrews. Let’s just say that MKA should stay with full length novels. And I hate to say this as she is one of my ‘will always read’ authors.

My November 2024 Reads
Today is the last day of November and I am sharing what I read this month! I got eight books read, one was a hardback, one was a short story paperback and six were audiobooks (The first audiobook I finished I tried to finish in October, but wasn’t able to and finished it on November 2nd. Since I finished it this month, it counts for November.)
Most of these books received 3.5 stars, while there was one 4 star and one 5 star re-read! Reviews for most will be coming soon.
I also am happy to share I reached my Goodreads Goal for 2024! I am currently at 54 books read for 2024. Originally my goal had been around 80 books, but then 2024 and unexpected life changes happened, so I dropped my goal to 52. This is still an accomplishment as that equals to a book a week!Let’s see how many more books I can get read in December!
Here are the books I read in the order I finished them:
We Used to Live Here by Marcus Kliewer- Audio- 4 stars
The One by John Marrs- Audio- 5 stars- This was a book club re-read
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams- Hardback- 3 stars
The Accidental Dating Experiment by Lauren Blakely- Audio- 3.5 stars
Doll House by John Hunt- Audio- 3.5 stars
What the Woods Took by Courtney Gould- Audio ALC (Advanced Listening Copy)- 3.5 stars
The Housemaid’s Wedding by Freida McFadden- Paperback short story- 3.5 stars
The New Single by Tamsen Fadal- Audio- 4 stars
I must mention that Tamsen Fadal is a ‘new to me’ author and I discovered her this year talking about her upcoming book How to Menopause that as of now will be published on March 25th 2025. I am planning on reading it as I am perimenopausal…. Which is ugh… And I’m just getting started with it!
My ‘favorite read’ was The One by John Marrs with 5 stars! It was just as good the second time around! It has been a few years since I have read it and listened to the audiobook this time. This was my suggestion for book club and it was voted in to be read!
My ‘least favorite’ was The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. I gave it three stars and it is just not my genre. But three stars is good, I’ve read better and I’ve read worse. I just don’t have the type of humor needed to really enjoy it. I did giggle some reading it.

[Top]My October 2024 Reads
We are now in November and heading into holiday season. That’s crazy isn’t it!?!?! Today I am sharing my October reads.
I read one paperback and listened to four audiobooks. Two of the books are from the same author and one of those is a novella. I was very close to finishing another audiobook, but did not get it finished before November reached us.
Here are the books in the order I finished them:
The Widow’s Husband’s Secret Lie by Freida McFadden- Paperback- 4 stars
The Last One at the Wedding by Jason Rekulak- Audio- 4 stars
The Boyfriend by Freida McFadden- Audio- 4 stars
The Hidden by Kiersten Modglin- Audio- 3.5 stars
Something Like Gravity by Amber Smith- Audio- 3 stars
My ‘favorite read’ was The Widow’s Husband’s Secret. It is a satire novella and definitely had me laughing and made fun of all the thriller tropes!
My ‘least favorite’ was Something like Gravity. It was a good book, it was just awarded the lowest number of stars compared to the other I read.
