My July 2025 Reads

Hello August: It’s time to share what I read in July! I read five books one novella and then one short story.

Four books were listened to on audio, one book was read in hardback and the novella was listened to on audio. The short story was in the hardback book.

What I did not finish in July, but will in August:

I made it through 83% in The Tenant by Freida McFadden.  I am listening to this on audio. (I actually finished it yesterday, August 1st).

I am only through 31% of The Survivor Wants to Die at the End by Adam Silvera.  Finding time to read has been challenging working 9-9.5 hours five days a week. And then this tome of a book is just over 700 pages…

Here are the books I completed in July.  They are listed in the order that I finished them:

My Next Breath
by Jeremy Renner- 5 stars (audio)

The First to Die at the End by Adam Silvera- 5 stars (hardback)
Alma Does Not Die at the End by Adam Silvera- 4 stars (hardback/short story)
Dare I Say It: Everything I Wish I’d Known About Menopause by Naomi Watts- 4 stars (audio)
The Locked Ward by Sarah Pekkanen- 4 stars (audio)  (ALC)
#CrimeTime by Jeneva Rose  and Drew Pyne- 5 stars (audio/ novella)
When Your World Ends: God’s Creative Process for Rebuilding a Life by Dawn Mann Sanders (ALC, the physical book is already out but audio is coming soon).

My ‘favorite read’ was #CrimeTime. I LOVED this one!  This is an audio only listen and a must listen!  It was written by Jeneva Rose and her husband Drew Pyne.  This is satire and I laughed the entire time.  The narrators did a superb job and there are also sound effects that enhanced this one greatly.  There is so much more I could say, but check out my review for my full thoughts here.

I can’t really pick a ‘least favorite read’ as all of my books were given four or five stars.  And looking at the list I can’t single one out as a ‘least favorite’.

What did YOU read in July?  Let’s bring on our August reading!
