My April 2026 Reads

It’s May 1st, so it’s time to share what I read in April: I listened to four audiobooks and two of these were advanced copies.
Here are the books I completed in April. They are listed in the order that I finished them:
Best Offer Wins by Marisa Kashino- 4 stars
Rebellion 1776 by Laurie Halse Anderson- 3.5 stars
A Brewed Awakening by Pepper Basham 5 stars (To Be Released May 5th)
The Shippers by Katherine Center 5 stars (To Be Released May 19th)

My ‘top rated read’ was extremely hard to choose! I had two rom coms that both scored 5 stars, but ultimately decided on The Shippers. The determining factor for me was a sort of ‘heavy direction’ that A Brewed Awakening went in. But then this direction was also why I gave it 5 stars! For my ‘Top Read of April’ I went with more light-hearted and fun. But both were superb and both are coming out very soon!

My ‘lowest rated read’ was Rebellion 1776. Again, there is nothing wrong with it, it just received the lowest stars in April. For a YA Historical Novel, it covers some deep topics: The Revolutionary War, a missing father, and small pox.

I did not get a physical book completed in April, but did get one started. Hopefully I will be able to report it completed in my May Reads!

My March 2026 Reads

It’s March 30th, so it’s time to share what I read this month: I listened to four audiobooks and read one book on Kindle. Two of these books were advanced copies.
Here are the books I completed in March. They are listed in the order that I finished them:
Mad Mabel by Sally Hepworth- 4 stars (To Be Released April 21)
Cut Short by B.D. Spargo- 4 stars
What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty- 4 stars
14 Nights in February by KH Johnakin and Ben Farthing- 2 stars
We Burned So Bright by T.J. Klune- 5 stars (To Be Released April 28)

My ‘top rated read’ was We Burned So Bright by T.J. Klune. This one is released on April 28th (Just in time for my birthday on April 29th!) This one was so good! It’s about an older gay couple on an end-of-the-world road trip. Because the Earth and all surrounding planets are all about to meet the end! There are lots of adventure and emotions with this one. It would be a great mini-series if it could stay true to this novel. I have a feeling this one will be in my Top 10 for 2026!

My ‘lowest rated read’ was 14 Nights in February by KH Johnakin and Ben Farthing. This was an ‘advent’ type novel for February leading up to Valentine’s Day. It had a good premise that just did not work for me. This is two months in a row that my lowest read was an ‘advent’ novel.

My February 2026 Reads

It’s March 2nd, so it’s time to share what I read in February: I listened to four audiobooks and read one book on Kindle.
Here are the books I completed in February. They are listed in the order that I finished them:
Dead in the Water by John Marrs- 5 stars
The Good Samaritan by John Marrs- 4 stars
The Engagement Ring Killer by Franklin Christopher- 3 stars
The Voice We Find by Nicole Deese- 4 stars
Without a Clue by Melissa Ferguson- 4 stars

My ‘top rated read’ was Dead in the Water by John Marrs. This one was recently released and it 1000% messed up and I loved every minute of it! I just wonder what that says about me as a reader, but more importantly what does that say about Mr. Marrs? Where does he come up with these ideas!?!?!?! My review for it is here.

My ‘lowest rated read’ was The Engagement Ring Killer by Franklin Christopher. Meant to be read as an advent calendar for the entire month of February, I had several issues with it, which can be found in my review here.
