My January 2026 Reads

Was January as long of a month for you as it was for me? It’s February 2nd, so it’s time to share what I read in January: I listened to four audiobooks and read one novella on Kindle. I had one DNF: That’s a Great Question, I’d Love to Tell You by Elyse Myers.
Here are the books I completed in January. They are listed in the order that I finished them:
My Husband’s Wife by Alice Feeney- 3.5 stars
This Story Might Save You Life by Tiffany Crum- 5 stars
The Quiet Neighbor by JD Barker and Adam Roach- 3.5 stars
The Wife Upstairs by Freida McFadden- 4 stars
The Heart-Shaped Box by Lucy Kaufman- 4 stars

My ‘top rated read’ was This Story Might Save Your Life. And a debut novel: WOW. This is a strong five star read that comes out March 10th. I say definitely listen to the audio on this one! My review for this one will come soon! And one of the narrators is JULIA WHELAN!!!

My ‘lowest rated read’ will be my DNF: That’s a Great Question, I’d Love to Tell You. This ends up being a kind of ‘mini-review’: This was a book club read that I DNF’d at about 40% in. I made it 2.5 hours out of 5.5 hours, so it got a great shot at an attempted read. This was supposed to be a memoir, but it was really just stories of events that happened in her life. I have no idea who she is and there was no introduction to herself in this book. It’s like she assumes you know who she is. With that I found myself not caring about these stories with no desire to complete the book.

What did YOU read in January?
My December 2025 Reads

It’s December 30th and we are almost at a new year, so it’s time to share what I read this month. I read seven books: One short story on kindle, four on audio, one paperback, and one hardback.
Here are the books I completed in December. They are listed in the order that I finished them:
The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware- 4 stars
Don’t Forget The Crazy by Lucy Kaufman- 4 stars
A Little Christmas Magic by Suzanne Rogerson- 4 stars
The Woman in Suite 11 by Ruth Ware- 4 stars
Getting Good with Money by Jessi Fearon- 4 stars
Rebellion by Raena Rood- 4 stars
What Does it Feel Like by Sophie Kinsella- 5 stars

My ‘top rated read’ was What Does it Feel Like by Sophie Kinsella. Kinsella passed away from brain cancer earlier this month, which I had no idea she was facing. What Does it Feel Like is a fictional account of an author dealing with the same disease. Basically, she is telling us her story, but in a fictional way. It did cause some emotions as it was her book Can You Keep a Secret? that got me reading all those years ago.

I did not have a ‘lowest rated read’ for December as the rest of what I read were given four stars. That’s a win for me!

My November 2025 Reads

It’s December 2nd!?!?! Then it is time to share my November reads: I finished seven books: One short story on Kindle, five books on audio, one book on Kindle ( a Thanksgiving Advent book), and I also DNF’d a short story on Kindle.
Here are the books I completed in November. They are listed in the order that I finished them:
Off Limits by Ember Davis- 2 stars (short story)
A Girl and Five Brave Horses by Sonora Carver- 3.5 stars
Expiration Dates by Rebecca Serle- 4 stars
The Accidental Pinup by Danielle Jackson-3.5 stars
When I Kill You by B.A. Paris (ALC out 2/17/26)- 4 stars
The Santa Suit by Mary Kay Andrews (a re-read for book club!)- 5 stars
I Bought a Haunted Thanksgiving Table by Sam Whittaker (Advent Book)- 1 star

I did DNF a short story: First Look by Ember Davis. I was giving this ‘Stranger Shoot Series’ a try and it became obvious that the second short story was going to be a repeat of the first short story: And it was going to be a repeat of things I did not like. I DNF’d it at 37% in, and being it is just 88 pages, that’s saying enough.

My ‘top rated read’ was The Santa Suit. This is a re-read and our book club read for December. It was also my selection that was chosen! It’s MKA, Christmas time, a little bit of a love story, and the magic of a Santa Suit all in one!

My lowest rated read was I Bought a Haunted Thanksgiving Table. This was an Advent Book. (Read a chapter a day through Thanksgiving.) Unlike the other two Advent books I have previously read, this one failed at many things for me. Let my review speak for my thoughts when it posts.

What did YOU read in November? Let’s bring on reading in December. It’s crazy that this is the last month of 2025. Let’s see what December brings!!
