My May 2025 Reads
It’s June 1st and time to share what I read in May! I read five books, four on audio and one in paperback.
Here are the books in the order that I finished them:
The Payback Girls by Alex Travis- Audio- 3 stars
The Humans by Matt Haig- Audio- 3.5 stars
Something I Keep Upstairs by J.D. Barker-Audio- 4 stars
The Murder Machine by Heather Graham- Audio- 3 stars
They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera- Paperback- 5 stars
My ‘favorite read’ was They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera. This was my first time actually reading it, the previous two times I read it, I listened to the audiobook version. The third book in the series was recently released, and I just had to read the other two again (Plus the short stories that Silvera has written that are in special editions of the books! And reviews come for those as well!) This series is one of my favorite books! We won’t talk about how many editions I have of the newest book….. Hey, I admit it: I NEEDED those special editions!
My ‘least favorite’ read was The Payback Girls. It had an interesting premise but was just too “YA” for me. (Too much drama…) I do like the cover!
I did also have a DNF (Did Not Finish) for May: It was a book I had read years ago for a book club that I was trying to read again: Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister by Gregory Maguire. I stopped at page 163 of 368. I tried for months to read it and finally DNF’d it.

My April 2025 Reads!
We are now in May, so it’s time to share what I read in April! I read five books, four on audio and one on kindle.
Here are the books in the order that I finished them:
The Love Haters by Katherine Center- Audio- 3.5 stars (This one comes out on May 20th)
The Summer House by James Patterson and Brendan DuBois- Audio- 3 stars
Hard to Get by Laura Moher- Audio- 4 stars
The First Wish of Murray McBride by Joe Siple- Kindle- 5 stars
Free: My Search for Meaning by Amanda Knox- Audio- 4 stars
My ‘favorite read’ was The First Wish of Murray McBride by Joe Siple. I didn’t quite cry like I did with Five Wishes, but I did come close a few times! This series has just touched me for this year, these are special books and I have truly loved reading them this year!
My ‘least favorite’ read was The Summer House by James Patterson and Brendan DuBois. It just was not for me.

My March 2025 Reads
It’s April 1st, so it is time to share what I read in March! It was an ‘off’ month: I was on ‘staycation’, my stepfather passed away after years of being sick, and work has been chaotic! I listened to three audiobooks and read one on kindle, so I feel I accomplished something!
Here are the books in the order that I finished them:
Incidents Around the House– Josh Malerman- Audio- 4 stars
The Final Wish of Mr. Murray McBride- Joe Siple- Kindle- 4 stars
Remote: The Six– Eric Rickstad- Audio- 4 stars
The Stranger in Her House– John Marrs- Audio- 4 stars
All of the books I read or listened to in March received 4 stars, and it was difficult, but I did pick a ‘favorite read’. I could not pick a ‘least favorite’ read. My ‘favorite read’ was Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman. It was just creepy, unique and I enjoyed the child’s perspective! The audiobook really helped to bring the novel to life!
